TOWSON, Md. (Sept. 18, 2025) … A pair of second half goals from homestanding Towson enabled the Tigers to defeat Hampton 2-0 in the CAA Women's Soccer opener for both teams on Thursday night.
After a back-and-forth first half that saw each team with scoring opportunities but couldn't find the back of the net, the Tigers broke the ice at 56:38 of the contest. Kale'a Perry was on the receiving end of helpers from Emma Kirkpatrick and Emely Rubbio and slid one into the lower left corner of the goal for the 1-0 advantage.
Towson was able to double the margin with 6 minutes and 40 seconds remaining behind an Emma Levin goal with assists by Sofia Rosenblatt and Jaelyn White to make the score 2-0.
The hosts held an 18-5 advantage in shots and 9-1 in shots on goal.
Avery John made seven saves in net for Hampton (5-4-1, 0-1-0) who saw its four-match unbeaten streak come to an end.
Hampton is back in action on Sunday afternoon as they head to Philadelphia to tangle with the Dragons of Drexel at 1 p.m.
