HARRISONBURG, Va. (April 12, 2025) … The Hampton University track and field programs competed on Saturday at the James Madison Invitational at a windy and chilly Sentara Park and came out with eight top three finishes.
Hampton came out with a pair of wins as the Pirates took first in both the women's and men's discus.
Damali Williams led a 1-2-4 finish for Hampton on the women's side with a toss of 49.41m (162-1), while
Rochele Solmon was second with a toss of 48.02m (157-6) and
Nya Harmon was fourth with a throw of 47.45m (155-8).
On the men's side, Daye Karibi-Whyte won with a personal best toss of 48.71m (159-10). That toss came on his final throw to take the win and a personal best.
