GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 14, 2025) … The Hampton University men's outdoor track and field team had a pair of top five finishes in day one of the 2025 CAA Championships to account for nine points and a seventh-place showing at North Carolina A&T.
William & Mary leads after day one with 49 points, followed closely by Monmouth with 46 and UNCW with 28.
Floyd Tucker was fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.78m (15-8.25) to break his school record for the second meet in a row. The previous mark was 4.70m set 10 days ago at the Aggie Classic.
Marquis White took fifth place in the long jump with a leap of 7.02m (23-0.5) to give the Pirates four points.
Hampton did have a couple standouts in the preliminary rounds of events.
Deondre McIntosh qualified second in both the 100 meters (10.39) and 200 meters (21.10), while
Justin Anderson qualified third in the 400 meters (47.49) and
Mohammed Al-YaFee qualified eighth in the 800 meters in 1:53.30.
Events on Thursday begin at 10 a.m. at the Marcus Johnson Track and can be streamed on FloSports.
