HAMPTON, Va. (March 7, 2024) -- As the season winds down to its final few days, Hampton (3-23, 3-13) hosts No. 1 Stony Brook (22-3, 14-2) as the Lady Pirates honor three players on Senior Day.
Â
Camryn Hill,
Cheyenne Talbot, and
Heaven Accimeus will be ending their Hampton careers shortly. The trio have contributed in many ways on-and-off the court.
Â
Hill leads the Lady Pirates in virtually every offensive category while Talbot has developed into an offensive force this season and leads the team in rebounding and is second in scoring.
Heaven Accimeus, who has not played this season while recovering from a broken foot, has contributed at practices and traveled with the team on the road to assist.
Hill missed the Northeastern game on March 3 due to injury. Without Hill in the line-up, the Lady Pirates fell to the Huskies, 64-60. Talbot picked up the slack with 15 points and two, three-pointers to keep Hampton in the game.
Â
Coach
David Six's roster was down to eight players against Northeastern with seven players on the sidelines.
Â
While Hampton has struggled to score, the Lady Pirate's swarming, relentless defense has kept them in games.
Â
For the season, Hampton has had 10 or more steals on 12 occasions in 26 games. The Lady Pirates have blocked five or more shots 10 times and have had at least one block in every game this season.
