EASTON, Pa. (Feb. 17, 2024) - The Pirates were defeated by the Lafayette Leopards on Saturday, in Easton, Pa. with a final score of 22-2.
The matchup pitted Hampton head coach
Chazz Woodson and Lafayette head coach Patrick Myers, former teammates of the Boston Cannons of the MLL (Major League Lacrosse) against each other in the showdown on Saturday.
 How It Happened
The Pirates struggled to find the back of the net early as they were scoreless in the first quarter and the Leopards jumped out to a nine goal lead. The offense was able to get going as midfielder
Darius Stanley scored their first point at the 13:09 mark in the 2nd period, his first goal of the season. The Pirates were still able to bring in 12 saves going into the half as they trailed 12-1.
Lafayette continued to score through the third period bringing their lead to 18-1. The Pirates found success late in the third when
Jonathan Angel dished a pass to
Sebastian West giving him his first goal of the season.
The Leopards scored four more times while the Pirates went scoreless in the fourth quarter bringing the final score to 22-2. Sadasivam finished the game with 16 saves while defenseman
Dillon Bethea led the Pirates in caused turnovers with 2, and ground balls with 3.
