HAMPTON, Va. (Nov. 30, 2024) … The Hampton University women's basketball team will begin a busy December taking on their second SEC opponent by facing the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday, December 1 at 2 p.m. inside Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia.
The game will be on SEC Network+ with Matt Stewart and Anne Marie Armstrong on the call.

The Lady Pirates start December coming off a 69-55 loss to Eastern Kentucky on November 25. The ball hawking Lady Pirates forced 19 turnovers and finished with eight steals while blocking three shots.Â

Clinton leads the Lady Pirates in scoring at 12.3 points per game, while Thomas is next at 8.8 points per game.
Aisha Dabo follows at 7.4 points and 4.6 rebounds, while Foreman is at 7.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest.
Hampton is sixth in the CAA in 3-point percentage defense holding their opponents to .294 from beyond the arc. They are third in the league in free throw attempts averaging 19 per game and fourth in free throws made averaging 12 per contest.

The defense has forced an average of 20.4 turnovers per game to rank second in the league and with 9.2 steals per game Hampton is fourth in the CAA.

Georgia comes into the contest after a 79-62 win over Prairie View A&M on Tuesday night to start a four-game homestand. De'Mauri Flournoy and Trinity Turner scored 16 points apiece to lead four in double figures for Georgia.

Turner and Flournoy are two of the top three in scoring for Georgia averaging 13.6 and 12.5 points respectively. Asia Avinger rounds out the double figure scorers at 10.1 per game. Amiya Evans is scoring 8.0 points, also on the boards (9.0 rpg) and in field goal percentage at .529.
