JOHNSON CITY, TN. – A goal by
Kynnedy Waldon in the 83
rd minute cut a deficit in half, but Hampton couldn't pull the equalizer in a 2-1 loss at East Tennessee State on Wednesday afternoon.
The hosts put two goals on the board in a 12 minute span of the first half as Sarah Connolly tallied one in the 30
th minute and Beatrice Abati put ETSU up 2-0 in the 42
nd minute.
In the 83
rd minute,
Courtney Moss sent a pass to Waldon who put Hampton on the board with a shot past goalie Courtney Green to cut the lead in half. Hampton had a couple more chances in the last seven minutes but couldn't tie the game.
Hampton now heads into Big South Conference action starting on Saturday night with a 7pm kick against USC Upstate in Spartanburg, S.C.
