Box Score HAMPTON, Va. – A second half spurt by visiting Mount St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon sunk the Hampton Lady Pirates in a 4-1 women's soccer loss at the HU Soccer Complex.
The first 55 minutes of the game saw the teams play very even before Jasmine McCree found Marcella Fegler with a crossing pass for the first goal for The Mount at 56:51. Jenna West then scored two goals for the guests in 83 seconds to push the advantage to 3-0 at the 68:13 mark.
Hampton got on the scoreboard with 3:50 left in the game as
Michelle Zilberman connected on her third goal of the season and second penalty kick. A final tally Kayla Hughes a minute later put Mount St. Mary's (3-1) up 4-1.
The Mount outshot Hampton 18-13 and each team had seven saves on the game.
Hampton (0-3) now ventures to the Palmetto State for a pair of games next weekend starting at USC-Upstate on Friday night at 7:30 pm.
