HAMPTON, Va. –
Reeana Richardson had 12 kills and
Lena Washington added 11 and seven digs as Hampton University swept Coppin State 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Northern Division action on Sunday afternoon in Holland Hall.
Hampton won its fifth straight match and topped last year's win total raising its record to 7-11 overall and 2-0 in MEAC Northern Division play.Â
The Lady Pirates hit a season-best .355 attack percentage, had the most kills this season in a three-set match with 44, tied the most assists in a three-set match with 42 and third most digs in a three-set match with 43.
Ravyn Richardson had six kills, four digs and two aces, while
Victoria Jenifer also had six kills. Lena Reed-Petracek had 18 assists, two aces and six digs, while
Mallory Beard chipped in 15 assists, six digs and one ace.Â
Maja Petronijevic topped the team in digs with 14 and added six assists.
Hampton now goes on the road up the Eastern Shore to face Delaware State on Friday, October 6 at 6 pm before visiting Maryland Eastern Shore for a 6pm match on October 7.
