GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Hampton University men's lacrosse team fell on the road Saturday to Thiel College 21-5 n a non-conference contest held at the Rissell-Schreyer Dome on the Thiel campus.
The hosts opened the game scoring the first seven goals of the game to lead 7-0 after the opening quarter.
Alexander Hudson got the Pirates on the board with his first goal of the game off a feed from
Darrel Kidd as Hampton trailed 7-1 with 8:56 left in the half. The host closed the quarter scoring ten goals to lead 17-1 at halftime.
After a scoreless third quarter, each team put up four goals in the final frame.
Kendall Sapp scored the first goal for the Pirates unassisted at the 13:28 mark. Kidd got his first goal of the year off a feed from
Julian Edwards with 7:37 left as Hampton trailed 20-3.
Hudson got his second goal of the game unassisted with 4:13 left and Kidd closed the scoring with his second of game off a feed from Sapp as Hampton lost 21-5. For the game, Thiel outshot the Pirates 42-21.
