Quinton Lee returned home to Hampton to join Head Coach Van Malone’s in 2026. A native of Hampton, Lee was a standout running back at nearby Bethel High. He was a three-year letterman for the Pirates football team from 2015-17 and started 12 games for the Pirates before serving as a student assistant coach as a senior. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Hampton in 2019.

Lee comes to Hampton following a two-year stint as a senior quality control coach at Austin Peay under Head Coach Jeff Faris. In 2023, he served as inside linebackers coach at Presbyterian.

At Presbyterian, he coached first-team Alex Harriott, who registered 188 tackles and 85 tackles for loss during the season. In addition, he coached three other players who earned all-league honors including Bronson Yoder (William & Mary), Jaden Lyles (Austin Peay State) and Montreze Smith Jr. (Austin Peay State).

Lee was one of 16 members of the NFL’s Big Data Bowl Mentorship Program from Sept. 2022 to April 2023, which utilized player-tracking data for offensive and defensive line coaches across the league. While in the mentorship program, Lee crafted visual breakdowns emphasizing football tracking and performance data through advanced statistical techniques, working extensively with the Super Bowl LVII runner-up Philadelphia Eagles to complete a Big Data Bowl submission.

Before his work in the NFL, Lee spent the 2023 season at William & Mary, where he was an offensive analyst and assistant running backs coach. Lee began his coaching career at Division III Christopher Newport, where he was a strength and conditioning intern and served on the football operations staff for the Captains.

Lee’s grandmother, Gwendolyn Toombs, is a Hampton graduate.
