Pirates Complete Competition in CNU Duals

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Sept. 14, 2026) … The Hampton University men's tennis team wrapped up their competition in the CNU Duals over the weekend.
Friday night saw the Pirates defeat Christopher Newport 4-3, having won four singles matches. After dropping the doubles point, Rafael Padilha, Kohei Konishi, Kevin Jorquera and Ibrahim Carrington each won their singles matches to give the Pirates a win over the host Christopher Newport.

The duo of Padilha and Jorquera earned a duos win to start Saturday over Longwood's Daniel Borisov and Ricards Sparks 6-1. The Lancers then went on to defeat Hampton in all six singles matches to defeat the Pirates.

On Sunday, Hampton defeated Mary Washington in singles 4-0. Padilha, Konishi, and Arora each won their match in straight sets, while Carrington won the fourspot in three to take down the Eagles.
