Men's Basketball Releases 2026-27 Non-Conference Slate

HAMPTON, Va. (Aug. 31, 2026) … The Hampton University men's basketball team has unveiled its 14 game non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season. The Pirates are slated to host five games inside of the Convocation Center.
Hampton's kicks off the season with two away games as it travels to Atlanta, Ga. to battle with Power Four foe Georgia Tech on Tuesday, Nov. 3., followed by a trip to the nation's capital to take on George Washington on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The first game inside of the Convocation Center takes place the second week of the season when Hampton plays host to the Apprentice School on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
Head Coach Ivan Thomas' squad rounds out the month of November with two road contests before playing in the Capital Thanksgiving Classic. That road swing starts at Navy on Saturday, Nov. 14 before playing cross-bridge rival Old Dominion Tuesday, Nov. 24. The Pirates then close the month out at American in a three-day MTE tournament where they will take on UMass Lowell, Radford and American over the course of three days from Friday, Nov. 27-Sunday, Nov. 29.
The Pirates open competition in December with a trip back to the Washington, D.C. to play Howard in the CP3 HBCU Classic inside of CareFirst Arena on Saturday, Dec. 5. Hampton will then continue their road swing on Tuesday, Dec. 8 when they travel to Winston Salem, N.C. to take on their second power four opponent in Wake Forest.
Following the contest with the Demon Deacons, Hampton closes out the month of December with four home contests to wrap up their non-conference schedule. The Pirates will play Norfolk State on Saturday, Dec. 12 before hosting Mid-Atlantic Christian Dec. 16, UMES Dec. 19 and Regent Dec. 31.
Hampton opens CAA play Jan. 2 when it hosts Drexel.
Game times will be announced at a later date.
