HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 5 2026) … The Hampton University men's tennis team competed in the River City Open over the weekend.
Rafael Padilha (6-7, 6-3, 10-6), Kevin Jorquera (6-1, 6-2), Ibrahim Carrington (6-3, 6-1) and Benedict Badza (6-2, 6-4) each won their singles matches on Friday, while Aryan Arora (6-3, 6-2) and Kohei Konishi (3-6, 7-5, 11-9) each earned a win in Saturday singles.Â
On Friday, all three of the Pirates duo's teams earned wins, as Padilha/Carrington (6-3), Konishi/Jorquera (6-2) and Badza/Arora (6-3) defeated their opponents.Â
The Pirates return to action Oct. 15-19 when they are scheduled to compete in the ITA Regionals in Lynchburg, Va.Â
