BALTIMORE, Md. –
The Hampton University women's basketball team cruised to its second straight win Monday night, defeating Morgan State 68-37 at the Hill Field House.

This was Hampton's largest margin of victory on the season.

Senior forward Quanneisha Perry (Decatur, Ga.) pulled down a team-high 15 rebounds, while junior guard Jericka Jenkins (Lancaster, Texas) dished out 11 assists.

Morgan State took a 2-1 lead at the 18:38 mark of the first half after a Brittany Dodson layup, but that would be the Bears' only lead of the night. The Lady Pirates responded with a 12-0 run to take a 13-2 lead at the 14:15 mark thanks to a jumper by senior guard Laura Lewis (Dallas, Texas).

The run expanded to 33-5 with 3:28 left in the first half, after a pair of Lewis free throws ballooned Hampton's lead to 34-7. Morgan State went on a 7-2 run to close Hampton's lead to 36-14 at the half.

Hampton held Morgan State to 14 first-half points. McMillian had 13 points at the half.

Erin Hawkins hit a 3-pointer with 11:59 left in the game to cut Hampton's lead to 46-28, but the Lady Pirates scored the next six points to go back up by 27, 55-28.

The Lady Pirates (10-5, 3-0 MEAC) shot 39.7 percent (23-for-58) from the floor, while also holding a sizeable 51-30 rebounding edge over the Bears. Hampton forced Morgan State into 14 turnovers, turning them into 17 points.

Thanks to 16 offensive rebounds, the Lady Pirates held an 18-2 edge in second-chance points.
