Sailing Finishes Second at Jefferson Cup

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (Sept. 28, 2026) … The Hampton University sailing team placed second in the Jefferson Cup, while Ivet Bejar and Micah Brandel placed first in the B Division.

The Pirates posted a team score with 76 points over the course of 10 regattas. Jackson Manley and Maggie Cesario-McKeon posted a team score of 60 points, finishing fifth three times.

Bejar and Brandel finished fourth in the first regatta before ripping off a first or second place finish the final nine races, recording six first place finished. They posted a final score of 16 points.

Hampton returns to action Saturday, Oct. 10 when they are set to compete in The Webb/Woollum hosted by Christopher Newport.
