GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The Hampton University men's cross country team took ninth place in the 11-team field at the ECU Pirates XC Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Duke won the meet with 26 points, followed by East Carolina's 53 points and Elon's 74 points. Nicholas Ciaccia of East Carolina won the individual title with a time of 24:34.5.
Coby Price anchored the men with a 66th place finish, crossing the line in the 8K race in 27:42.4. Geoffrey McCullough was the next Pirate to finish with a time of 28:20.7, just off the pace of Price. Tayvon Burris earned more points for the Pirates with a time of 29:16.5 to finish 80th, followed by Jamont Hike-Charles (30:40.3) in 86th place. Zaire Huyghue rounded out competition with a time of 32:21.2.
